Guest speaker Brooke Donnelly 3/12/11

Brooke Donnelly of St. Pete Beach, FL was the featured speaker at Merritt Island Aglow in March. Although just 11 were in attendance, her message on the power of God's love in transforming her heart was powerful. She told of being sexually molested by neighborhood boys as a grade schooler & the resulting emotional & psychological damage it left. Brooke opened the door of her heart in 5th grade after hearing a bible teacher say "Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart." Her testimony entailed how sexual brokeness led to lesbianism, witchcraft, drinking & drugs to suppress her rage & deep hurt. However, the prayers of her mother, mom's Aglow friends, sister Rachel & her praying friends at Calvary Chapel bible college in CA along with other divine interventions resulted in her eventual salvation.

The Merritt Island team graciously presented a lovely atmosphere (and fabulous Presentation Board- yay Cindy Hazes!) for the meeting to occur. Brooke privately ministered to women, speaking the truth in love & offering prayer and encouragement.

The main point we took away was this: Take Jesus to our community, to homosexuals particularly, the Jesus inside us ... by loving them where they are NOW .... always holding out TRUTH .... without judging, but not convincing them either .... just being led by the Spirit of God with LOVE as our primary aim. Pray for them to SEE JESUS AS HE TRULY IS ..... not condoning their sin but telling them the truth. God will open the eys of their heart, for He loves them sooooo much more than we do ..... come on church ..... we must love one another into His Kingdom!
